Is a Headphone Deal the New Sneaker Deal?

Well Dr. Dre, P. Diddy, 50 Cent, and Ludacris thinks so. After the successful launch of Beats By Dre, Diddy quickly jumped on board with Dr. Dre to launch DiddyBeats. Now the rest of the hip hop community seems to be jumping on board. This year 50 Cent and Ludacris have both announced headphones lines looking to debut 1st half of 2011.

50 Cent headphone line, Sleek by 50, was promoted during the CES Conference at the beginning of this year in Las Vegas. They are going to be the first high end wireless headphones to hit the market.

On the other hand Ludacris line, titled SOUL by Ludacris, and will be lauching about 5 different models.

It is normally said that the first 1 or 2 to the market makes the money, but it doesn’t seem like that is the case in the hip hop industry, but I guess only time will tell.
