2 Roadblocks that are stopping everybody from Accomplishing their Dreams…
It has been said that, “Where you are in 5 years will be determined by the books you read and the people you hang around most.” Wow, what a BOLD statement, let’s dig into it a little deeper to get a better understanding of it. “Where…YOU…are in 5 years will be determined by two things.” What are those two things?
1. The books you read
2. The people you hang around the most
Now the questions you should be asking yourself are, “What books am I currently reading?” And, “who am I spend most of my time with?”
If you do not like the answers to your questions here is what you should do immediately:
1. Define where you want to be within the next 5 years. You might start off by writing down the material things you want, but go a step further. Write out how you are going to pay for all those nice things. Write down what you want to do beside the leisure activities (like shopping or laying on the beach)? A better question is WHO do you want to be?
2. Once you define who you want to be and what you want to do, find someone who has done it before. This is the reading part.
3. Find like-minded individuals who are either at the level you want be or are headed in the same direction as you. I am not saying totally cut off all your old buddies, I am saying spend more time with people with the solution and not the problem. By hanging around people at the position you want to be, it will automatically elevate your thinking and actions. Then, one of two things happens: they become like you, or you become like them.
Now it is up to you. Are you going to let what you are reading and the people you hang around stop you from living out your dreams? Only your actions can answer that question!
